Cubeb berries, also called Java pepper or tailed pepper, are native to the Spice Islands and are primarily harvested in Indonesia. The berries have an aromatic fragrance with a slight bitter and peppery flavor. Used in Indonesian curries, Cubeb is sometimes found as an ingredient in the Moroccan spice blend Ras el Hanout.
